I am slogging through papers tonight. Student papers. There is a wide range of quality in these, their first literary analysis papers. Some got it, some just summarized. This is how things go with first year students, I think. Now, I have put off reading these for weeks because of all the other stuff I have been doing. Now that I have some time, I can perform my teaching duties. Sigh. I have no idea what we are talking about in class tomorrow. I should look at that. I think that we are talking about Barkun...not sure. (sigh). Following last week's conference, I have been contacted by numerous people about wanting to use extraordinary claims in their writing classrooms. I'm such a trend-setter. Now if you will excuse me, I need to return to my suicide by computer ink poisoning. I even talked to a textbook editor for a major publisher this week about some of the stuff I'm doing. That's damned exciting.
