A day at the knowledge factory...

There. I am completely oriented. I now know everything that there is to know about Big Deal University, where I am currently employed. I have been through a faculty orientation, and there was a point where I sat up in my chair and realized, "Holy crap! I'm at a faculty orientation." That was a good moment. I think it was when I was looking at retirement plans.

I am going to be working with some swell people, I think. There are a couple of new hires who came into the department with me.

Today is syllabus day. I almost fell asleep on the bus home last night, so I kept it low key last night. I wanted to write, but I was just bushed. So, I watched a couple of episodes of Monster Quest, which Animala promised me was not as bad as it is in fact is. The funniest episode we watched was the one about the Boggy Creek Swamp Stalker, and the only reason this was amusing was because they kept referring back to the 1972 The Legend of Boggy Creek. The Legend of Boggy Creek has a special place in my heart because, 1) it is technically a form of heart worm and 2) because MST3K ripped apart the third movie in the series, The Legend of Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues... (yep, you read that right, the sequel made so little a splash that the filmmakers decided that the third movie might as well be the second movie).

Anyway, I am going to mosey for a morning coffee and then it's to work. I have been putting this off as long as possible. I am looking forward to this class.

You've been in Georgia for one week and you can already mosey? That's one successful orientation program they gave you.
