A DNC attack ad calls Americans who are exercising their right to free speech - extremists, radical, an angry mob, and even uses terminology implying protestors have links to organized crime, calling them "the mob."

Indeed, the Democratic leadership and Congressmen who are facing angry protestors at town hall meetings are saying they are "cranks", "radical extremists", and akin to Hitler's minions.

White House New Media Director Macon Phillips has issued an unprecedented call for Americans to turn in other Americans if they believe someone is spreading "fishy" information about White House plans. Phillips posted this on the White House web site:

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."
