How's Howse Doing?

I'm tired of Howse, quite frankly. Unless something else happens, this will be my last post. And you know what, I don't really have to worry about him. For all his bluster about how he was felt sorry for Barnes and Noble pissing off the wrong guy, how he was going to mobilize 1% of the country (3 million was his number), when you look at the national impact that his jihad against the weenis has gone, you realize that he is not only paranoid, but also has delusions of grandeur.

I have used the biggest, bestest, most comprehensive news service database I have access to, LexisNexis Academic. Searching for his name in the past month, through all of the radio and news transcripts, world newspapers, magazines, and blogs, Howse appears only twice, and one of those is his own tedious website:

Click for the full scale results, but yeah. This guy is a complete failure. And I'm not the only one who thinks so! When his book One Nation Under Man? came out, he was pretty much panned across the board:
Tom Flynn said that Howse’s rhetoric was “dishonest, negligent, misleading and sloppy.”

My favorite review, however, came from the Library Journal, a well-respected publication:

The venerable Library Journal (really a standard-bearer publication) reviewed One Nation Under Man? and called it

“ a fearful religious-right isolationist book associated with Christian ‘heritage,’ 'dominion,’ and ‘reconstruction’ movements that makes the word worldview a misnomer. Not recommended for public libraries.”
Hey, whaddya know? Barnes and Noble sells Brannon's awful fucking book! Ingrate! After all the devil has done for you, Brannon, this is how you pay him back?

I'm done with this failure of an ass-clown.

Hooooo-raaay. I was tired of Brandon Howse before I ever heard of him. Personally, I don't want to know about a guy whose family has a uniform (except I guess for the adoptive daughter) that includes hair color. So how do we remember the Howse Wars? The answering of the mail was inspired as was the Visit to the Hell Hole of Record (especially the desire to not be misconstrued by a complete female stranger). Everything else was kind of overkill, but it's your blog. All in all I will remember this past week with bittersweet nostalgia. But it's a big stupid world out there and you'll soon find another idiot with his head up his biblical ass.

So what (or WHO) is next?

Well, I, for one, will miss the consummate snark you brought to bear on the sad/silly/cringe-worthy antics of Mr. Howse. Nevertheless, I suppose it's time to move on. As b80vin says, it's not like there's any lack of the stupid out there. Thanks again for a great series of posts!
