Atheistic Bible Study with Brannon Howse...

As part of my ongoing series of posts about Brannon Howse's very public self-humiliation, I thought that I briefly give you a sample of what completely unabashed bigotry that he put on the on record in the Twin Cities Star-Tribuneo on 9 Sept 2000. Brannon says that he didn’t want people of, to use a phrase redolent of 1950s suburbia, “a certain type” moving into his neighborhood:

Brannon Howse, spokesman for the Minnesota chapter of the American Family Association, said that he would rather have someone from a non- Christian faith living next door than someone of no faith. "They all have standards by which to live life. They believe in a right way, a wrong way and the truth. They have strong codes of conduct, a strong world view. Even though I'm no Muslim, I'd rather have my neighborhood filled with Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus than one filled with atheists. With someone who's coming from a religious background, I know where they're coming from; I know the basis of what they believe."

Guess who’s coming to dinner, asshole?

You know when you get your base-running signals from Jesus, you are going to get a little hate speech. Lying just beneath the story of the Good Samaritan is the presupposition that Samaritans, as a class, are Untermenchen. Jesus was basically saying, “Even a fucking Samaritan knows how you should behave.” How's that for backhanded brotherly love?

Doesn't Brannon know that Buddhism (as originally practiced) is atheistic?
