Catholic League Gets Even More Delightful
For immediate release from the Catholic League:
NAKED JESUS DISPLAY CANCELLED
Responding to news that the naked chocolate Jesus that was to be displayed at the Roger Smith Hotel during Holy Week has been cancelled, is Catholic League president Bill Donohue:
“While we are delighted with the outcome, we are not pleased with the comments of the gallery’s creative director, Matt Semler. For him to say that our objection to this outrageous display constitutes hate speech and is the equivalent of a fatwa shows how deliriously irresponsible this man is.
“Because we did not like the way the Roger Smith Hotel handled the decision to drop the display, we have no intention of contacting the 500 organizations that we alerted to this assault on Christian sensibilities to inform them that the exhibition has been cancelled.”
So, they do what you want and you don't call off the hit job? You prick. I remember being bent over by a Catholic priest or two in my day, and between their moans and putting their fingers in my ass, I remember them saying something about "sins of omission." You know what, dickhole, Donohue...if there is a hell, you are sooooo burning there. If there isn't, you're just going to have to go through life being hated for no good reason. You're screwed. And that's just fine by me. You're an awful person, and you give us atheists a good name. Wow.
Now, I wondered whether or not there there had been intimidation on the part of pissed off religious types. But Christians would never do something like that:
"In this situation, the hotel couldn't continue to be supportive because of a fear for their own safety," said Semler.God damn it. You know, even the Iranians called off the fatwa on Rushdie. Sounds like people were threatening workers. And yes, Semler also indicated there were death threats. Personally, I believe Semler, since this should have been GREAT publicity for the hotel and gallery (like when Al Franken got sued by Fox, pushing sales of Lies through the roof). In that light, it was Donohue who was "deliriously irresponsible." Also Jesus hates Bill Donohue.
